7:00 PM – CY Stephens Auditorium - Of the genre created by Frank Capra, thus romantic moralistic-sentimental-patriotic-funny. This film was also daring. He made the picture when Europe was ablaze with war and propaganda, and it proves to be an "angry expose of American fascism," 1941. Part of the World Affairs Series

Film: It Happened One Night
3:00 PM – Pioneer Room, Memorial Union - 1934, still the only film to win the top five Oscars. Stars Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. Directed by Sicilian immigrant Frank Capra whose films have been called "The best example of the 'responsible' artist in our times." Contains the historic motel scene that devastated undershirt sales all over America. Part of the World Affairs Series
