Humankind in the 1980s - Robert Muller
8:00 PM – Sun Room, Memorial Union - Robert Muller, a Director in the Office of Secretary-General Waldheim, has been with the United Nations since 1948. His service and spheres of UN interest are many and varied. Together with Paul Hoffman, Administrator of the Marshall Plan, Muller helped to establish the UN Development Programme. He has served as Political Advisor to the UN Forces in Cyprus, accompanied Secretary-General Waldheim to the Security Council meeting in Africa and has made several state visits to Europe and the Peoples Republic of China. His UN activities include such varied topics as highjacking, solar energy, environment, space communication, natural disasters, biology and water problems. This year, his book A Sketchbook of Happiness will be published by Double day. Part of the World Affairs Series
