Ms. Guidote-Alvarez established the Third World Institute of Theatre Art Studies and the Folk Arts for Communication and Education in New York. 3:00 PM – Brunnier Gallery, Scheman Building - Joanne Bubolz Eicher is professor and Head of the Department of Textiles and Clothing at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Eicher's background includes research on pelete bite textiles during three field trips to Kalabari, nigeria. Dr. Eicher brings her academic training as a sociologist and her extensive experience in socio-cultural study of American and African dress to the analysis of the Kalabari textiles. She held a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship and is past president of the Middle East Studies Association of North America. Dr. Keddie is the author of nine books on modern iran and the Middle East. her most recent book is Roots of Revolution; An Interpretive History of Modern Iran. Problems and Potential in World Food Production - Earl O. Heady
3:00 PM – Pioneer Room, Memorial Union - Earl O. Heady is the Charles f. Curtiss Distinguished Professor of Agriculture at Iowa State. he is the Director of the Center for Agricultural Development, a program which has greatly influenced the course of the agricultural "Green Revolution" in developing countries throughout the world. he has served on many national committees, including the White House Committee on Domestic Affairs and the US state Department Advisory Committee on World Food Programs. Dr. Heady was recently elected to the prestigious Soviet Academy of Agricultural Sciences. he is the only agricultural economist among the few selected Americans in the Academy.
