Close Encounters: Religion and Nationalism - Peter van der Veer
8:00 PM – Sun Room, Memorial Union - Peter van der Veer is professor of comparative religion and director fo the Research Center for Religion and Society at the University of Amsterdam. He is the author of Gods on Earth and Religious nationalism and the editor of Nation and Migration and Conversion to Modernities among other works. He just finished a book in Dutch, called Modern Orientalisme. He is a member of the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton this school year.
