8:00 PM – Sun Room, Memorial Union - Michael Moore is the host, writer, director and executive producer of TV Nation, a ground-breaking , satirical news magazine which appeared on NBC and FOX. he produced and directed"Roger and me," a political satire about his quest to convince General motors Chairman Roger B. Smith to visit Flint which was devastated by the General Motors plant shutdowns. The film was the highest grossing documentary of all times and enabled Moore to establish the Center for Alternative Media, a foundation supporting independent filmmakers and social action groups. He was president of NBC News, page one editor of The Wall Street Journal, and editor and resident of The Des Moines Register. Marilyn Berlin Snell is executive editor of Utne Reader, a monthly magazine featuring the best of the alternative media. She was senior editor of New Perspectives Quarterly, a journal of social and political thought. Dennis Ryerson is editor of the Des Moines Register where he was editorial page editor. He was news editor for the Schottsbluff Star-Herald, editorial page editor of the Vancouver Columbian chief editorial writer and director of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, managing editor/news at the Denver Post, and executive editor of the Great Falls Tribune.
