From Wall Street to the Front Lines of Women's Health

Suzanna de Baca is the new president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland. She brings to the position more than 20 years of executive leadership at public, privately held and not-for-profit organizations, most recently as vice president of wealth strategies at Ameriprise Financial. Suzanna de Baca has been recognized in national media as an industry expert in finance, with particular expertise in women's and LGBT issues, and the intersection of health and money. An industry veteran, she has held senior-level management positions at several leading financial services firms. Raised on a farm near Huxley, de Baca received her BA from Iowa State and then completed her MBA studies at the Harvard University School of Business Administration.
Suzanna de Baca previously served on Planned Parenthood of the Heartland's board of directors and currently serves on the board of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. She has also served on the boards of the Minnesota Women's Foundation and the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Lecture Etiquette

  • Stay for the entire lecture and the brief audience Q&A. If a student needs to leave early, he or she should sit near the back and exit discreetly.
  • Do not bring food or uncovered drinks into the lecture.
  • Check with Lectures staff before taking photographs or recording any portion of the event. There are often restrictions. Cell phones, tablets and laptops may be used to take notes or for class assignments.
  • Keep questions or comments brief and concise to allow as many as possible.
